Results of NICSLU (from an old version)

 

NGSPICE Results (TRAN simulation time)

Tested on a Windows 7 desktop with Intel i7-4790 CPU & 16GB RAM.

1.     Pre-layout style/pure digital circuits

Model evaluation dominate, negligible solver time, but NICSLU is still faster than SPARSE 1.3 in NGSPICE

2.     Post-layout style/ large circuits with some MOSFETs

Sparse solver dominate, NICSLU shows extremely outstanding performance than both SPARSE 1.3 and KLU

Tested on an Ubuntu server with Intel Xeon E5-2690 v2 CPU & 128GB RAM.

I used icc 14.0.3 with Intel MKL 11.1.3. All solvers were tested with their default configurations.
